Tomorrow, i start afresh. i enter Officer Cadet School. i'll stick a velcro badge on my shoulder and don a rank on my chest. From a concluding chapter to a new different novel.
To be honest, i'm feeling like a child - like a young primary school kid entering secondary school for the first time. A new environment to adjust to, with enormous new challenges to overcome. More tiring routines, and tougher punishments and regimentations. But God has placed me here for a reason.
Had a good week, nonetheless, catching up with friends and even having the privilege to go back to Segamat to see grandma. She laughed endearingly at my bald head, and it occurred to me how distant i am from my Malaysian relatives now that i've enlisted and am unable to go back to visit. It was good to see her smile; it was good to see everyone again. And i long to go back soon.
To lead, i'll learn. To excel, with humility. To overcome, i must. God be my ever-present help in times of need. Cheers be to the next 9 months.
